My ethernet port fried due to a thunderstorm power surge so purchased adapter.

It came with asix drivers AX88772B and A which would not load, probably not for Mac OSX Sierra so searched forums and downloaded and installed Asix latest drivers 88179 for USB3.0 to Ethernet.

Followed instructions and after install went to hardware USB showed driver installed but no mention of manufacturer just that component is there.

INSIGNIA USB Ethernet Adaptor driver and wifi problem. After I installed “INSIGNIA USB 3.0 to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter’s Driver” on my mac for My timecapsule. (That Driver name is “RTUNICv1.0.8.pkg). Problem 1 - I can’t use wifi and don’t see wifi driver. I can’t use my time capsule by wifi and by ehernet cable.

Went to Network in System preferences but no mention of USB Ethernet being installed .
