Adobe has discovered the compatibility issue listed below with running Photoshop with macOS 10.13 (High Sierra).

Adobe strongly recommends that customers update to the Photoshop CC 2017 release prior to updating to macOS 10.13 (High Sierra). Older versions of Photoshop were not designed, nor extensively tested to run on macOS High Sierra. Additionally, we strongly recommend that customers do their own testing on a non-production partition to ensure that new operating systems work with their current hardware and drivers (printing, etc). You may wish to remain on an older version of the OS that is compatible with prior versions of our software.

I have Adobe Photoshop CS3 which I purchased as a download for my MacBook Pro. Recently due to overfilling of my hard drive I experienced difficulties with a number of things. When starting Photoshop now I receive a message 'One or more files in the Adobe Application Support folder, necessary for running Photoshop, are missing.
Dec 28, 2016 I have an incompatibilty issue between Adobe Photoshop CS3 (and Dreamweaver CS4) and MAC OS Sierra. Problem compounded by absence of disc or serial number for Photoshop. Photoshop would not open until I downloaded Javaforosx.dmg, which I did. Subsequently I could not open Photoshop: ' Licensing for this project has stopped working'.

Note:

The 10.13.1 update to macOS High Sierra resolves this issue. The information below applies only to macOS High Sierra 10.13.0.

The Photoshop document window does not expand to fill the entire display when the macOS Dock is shown. The problem does not occur if the Dock is set to “Automatically hide and show”

Download OSXCompatibilityPlug-in.zip to your computer.

After you download the OSXCompatibility plug-in package file above, double-click it to decompress it. If asked, extract all the files.

Copy the OSXCompatibility.plugin file to the Plug-ins folder inside the Photoshop application folder:

Applications/Adobe Photoshop [Photoshop_version]/Plug-ins

Well, it has arrived—probably the most-anticipated program for Intel Macs has made its way to Apple's newest CPU platform, and you can almost hear the collective sigh of relief from Mac users (it's only slightly louder than the mumbles of 'don't do this to us again' from Adobe). But CS3 isn't just a small update—it's chock full of enough new stuff that's Adobe feels it's now worth branching out into two different versions: Photoshop CS3 and Photoshop CS3 Extended. Don't worry though—all of the Photoshop CS2 features are in still the standard edition and both include Bridge CS3. But don't just take my word for it.

You'll notice what's not mentioned there: ImageReady. Adobe has axed it completely and has instead replaced it with Fireworks CS3, which is sold in a separate web suite package or as a standalone program. But don't worry—you don't need to get Fireworks to do simple animated GIFs since the ImageReady frame-based animation palette is incorporated into Photoshop CS3 Standard. Still, not everything from ImageReady made it in, and some beta users were already lamenting the loss of JavaScript rollovers for slices. It also seems that you can't open an animated GIF to show the animated frames anymore—you have to have the source PSD file.

This is the same behavior that Photoshop CS2 had, but if I feel like it's a bit of a loss to not provide all the features that were in both ImageReady CS2.

Anyway, I'm getting ahead of myself here so before I start slinging any mud, let's get back to basics.

Notice the larger disk space requirements for the Mac—'Universal' is city talk for 'two versions.'
